I see several other users in these forums reporting similar problems, but none have them have gotten good answers, so I'm adding one more report. Is this just Apple trying to space out updates so that hundreds of millions of phones aren't hitting its servers on the same night? If that's the case, why isn't my wife's phone getting updates after several weeks? That's too long for updates that often fix critical security issues. After several days, I'll usually get impatient and install the update manually, but my wife (with a similar setup) has gone several weeks or longer with nothing happening.

I don't even see a badge on the Settings app to alert me that an update is available, although I do see it if I actually go to "Software Update" in the app.

Everything appears to be set up properly: A software update, which is sometimes called a software patch, is not the same thing as a software upgrade. Automatic updates have not been working on my iPhone for some time.
